We know that being a mother is not always sunshine. You get sleep deprivation, tantrums out of nowhere, endless wet diapers, more cleaning... Or you can check out what are the 8 things new parents aren't quite prepared for. However, at the end of the day when you hold your baby and look into his eyes, you would feel so proud and happy you are raising this little one and that you are the world to him.
Being a mother is truly rewarding. On the hard days, remember these joys of being a mother:
You are growing as an individual
Raising a child is a great responsibility. As you are nurturing, providing and guiding your child in this world, you are learning to be patient, empathetic and selfless. You also become a better multitasker and learn to manage time and priorities better. Most importantly, you strive to be the best you can be – a role model for your child.
You are building a special bond with your child
You form a bond with your child before he is even born as you provide nourishment and protection when he is in your womb. This bond continues to grow and deepen through daily interactions and shared experiences. You are the first person your child seeks comfort and protection from; you are the person your child trusts. You are your child’s safe haven.
You are watching your child learn and grow
You get to witness all their little milestones from first words to first steps, until they graduate from university. As your child grows, you will see their personality, interests, and talents begin to emerge. You will be so proud to see the amazing person your child has become. It is incredibly rewarding when you can be an important part of their life while they are navigating the world.
You are getting more fun and laughter
Let’s be honest, you cannot help but adore their naivety and curiosity and you will find yourself smiling a lot. You enjoy being silly and goofy when playing and engaging in fun activities with your child, and your child loves it too! And there is so much to explore with your child, be it having play dates, doing puzzles, taking your child to the zoo, or going to a theme park, your child brings so much joy and laughter to your life.
You are gaining joyous experiences as a mother
Watching your child utter their first words, take their first, or attend school on the first day can be a source of great joy and pride. Seeing them learn and develop new skills, make friends, and achieve their goals can bring a sense of happiness and fulfilment to a mother. Take it all in because all these moments create lasting memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
You become a hero
You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish when you become a mother. A hero is someone who is fearless and selfless. You help your child overcome struggles and hardships in life so they become fearless to try new things, accept failures and have courage. You constantly inspire and motivate them to become a better versions of themselves every day.
You feel unconditional love
From the moment you held your baby in your arms, you knew that you would love him or her unconditionally. And your baby loves you unconditionally too. As a mother, you provide support, care, and love unconditionally to your child. It is the unconditional love that provides comfort and security for both mother and child, which creates a deep sense of trust and intimacy. This is the happiness and joy of being a mother.
